Do you think the Volvo B9TL will be mass produced and found widely in singapore like the vo3x or lo3x? Maybe in 5 to 10 years time?

Unlike the B10TL and limited produced units?

Or will there be other new units?

Scania SG

Depends on whether EDB wants to attract Volvo, Scania, Evobus, Irisbus to set up production plants. We are back to square one in vehicle production, Motorimage just produced two Singapore made Subarus, so it may take some while for vehicle producers to have production plants in Singapore.

I would say that this will not happen over here in Singapore. The cost of labour itself is enough to turn people away from Singapore. IMO, SIngapore should concentrate on High-Tech Industry in order to stay ahead of other countries..

Superbus SG

I think what the thread-starter meant is, will the B9TL be bought in large numbers, like the LO 3-axles and the VO 3-axles?

sBs_boy SG

Hmmm, Isnt 200 Enough ?

ZYX2005 SG

SBS BUSES LOVER SG

why dosent sbst buy more merc ? Mr. Green

ZYX2005 SG

i do not think the ltest rang of merc will suit the hot weather here

imagine if citaro G cna ctch fire in london...and given the heat here....

not a wise move unless u make bigger radiators on the bus ranges

just look at the B9s they feel like they cna catch fire any moment.

Prediction:

If SMRTB is saving as much buses as possible, I guess they would withdraw either 106 or 77. Evil or Very Mad

Svc 77 and 106 duplicates the route all the way except for the Commonwealth Ave West, C'wealth Ave, Holland Ave and Toh Tuck Ave.

189 got cover a bit of 106's route and 173 and 852 covers a bit of 77's route, 61 covers a bit of 106 and 77, it would sure be messy if they withdraw it. Its just low possibility of withdrawing this svc, I am not sure about the demand. These are just SMRTB's route comparison, if add in SBST's route, I think some svc can cover the lost of any of these svc passing through Bt Batok.

carbikebus SG

Harlow,77 & 106 got hell lots of pax,You withdrawn then pax from Toh tuck take what?Taxis?

brotherchen1982 SG

77 is for people living in Bt Batok, Toh Tuck, Jln Jurong Kechil, Bt Timah, ... to Orchard/Marina
106 is for people living in Bt Batok, Clementi, Ghim Moh/Buona Vista, Holland V, ... to Orchard/Marina

If either is withdrawn, how people go Orchard/Marina w/o hassle?

sBs_boy SG

Different route, Different demand.. If there is a way to cut the number of routes that they have, they would have done that in the very first place.. Wouldnt wait till now.
