Well, it's not unusual for commercial companies to spend
literally a ton of money just on fonts, especially when it forms
part of the image or branding for the company. In the case of SBS
Transit, I would consider destos to be part of their image, seeing
how visible they are to the public. Of course, they must strike a
balance between aesthetics and functionality in this case, and I
think FF Meta was a good choice - not too plain, and the numbers
are easy to read.
This is actually considered illegal you know - I have seen it
happen before on other forums, and while they were not sued, they
were told to remove the fonts by the forum administrators and
moderators - or else.
