hmm, so that means JRBP was the first to get MB O.405s? and u meant SBS82P which had went to BRBP?

btw 187 just before the xfer to TIBS was dual-depot controlled by JRBP and BBDEP? bcos i remembered seeing MK IIIs on 187 besides MBs.

I had to take 187 daily for 4 years and it was hopeless lah... especially in the peak hours. You can wait up to half an hour for a bus (at Jurong East area, heading to BNL). Then the bus is a full-to-the-door Nissan. Need to wait another 20min for another full-to-the-door 12m.

(But thanks to the full-to-door buses, I sometimes got free rides... Wink Wink )

Departing BNL is even more hopeless during the peaks. You see 5.30pm onwards till maybe 7.30pm, all 12m buses will be packed full to the door and there will still be people who cannot board at the interchange.

Cos many people say that taking 187 is much faster as compared to 157 & 198 to Jurong West/East & 187 stop nearest to Bt Batok MRT Stn.

Ya, especially during those farecard days, free rides when the bus is fully packed... Laughing

Comparing to 178, i prefer service 187 due to some reasons

- Apart from Nissans also got newer buses eg Bendies Laughing
- Shorter route than 178 (187 got 26 fare stages whereas 178 got 34)
- Plies expressway from Bt Panjang to Woodlands
- More straight forward route (while 178 detours around some areas Rolling Eyes )

For me, i stil remember 187 from my childhood days. It was a great bus because it served Street 51, which is where i used to live near. I always remembered 187 as the only TIBS bus to ply along Street 51 which was peculiar and I liked it (even if SBS handed it over).

It usually gets crowded (from what I can see) from BNL to I think the Bukit Panjang area. But I dont really know much about 187 since I dont live near it anymore but I really home 187 has more MB O405s and gives scania to perhaps 911? 903? lol.

lol. SMRT should buy triple Bendies for 187 as the loads is too heavy even for bendies as the amonut of students is enormous.

Took CSS191X on sv 187 2day,
Bus interior look very run down,
Rivets, screws n metal surfaces rusting away,
Bus surfaces either wif paint peeling off or dirt marks on it,
Seats uncomfortable with patched up marks,
Journey very slow n bumpy along BKE,
And people behind me comment tat bus very "lok kok",
Some even mentioned tat aircon very warm... Twisted Evil

Later took TIB861P on sv 187 back to Woodlands,
Bus much cooler wif green interiors,
Aircon much cooler and journey much more smoother
And people wif smiling faces Very Happy
