from the Straits Times:
IF YOU are drinking this festive season, stout-maker Guinness is
volunteering to do the driving.
From today till Sunday, and then again next weekend, six Guinness
buses will offer free rides between popular party spots, and even
ferry merrymakers home at the end of the night.
From 9pm to 1am, the buses will run in a loop service every 10
minutes between City Hall, Clarke Quay, Boat Quay, Zouk and Orchard
Emerald.
From 1am till 4am, buses will leave the bus stop outside St
Andrew's Cathedral and make a quick round to all five party spots
before returning there, after which passengers will be spilt into
three buses, each headed North, East or West, doing drop-offs at
major MRT stations along the way.
The initiative, spearheaded by Asia Pacific Breweries Singapore,
seeks to educate the public that it is possible to have fun and be
socially responsible.
In the first 11 months of the year, 24 people lost their lives to
drink driving. Another 3,440 people were arrested for drink-driving
offences.
