Hi, have anyone thought of buying a retired Scania N113CRB NAC(it might be cheaper than an air-coned one)) from SBSTransit (take it that LTA allows that)? I have also thought of swapping its old engine with a smaller, more powerful 9 litre engine, sacrificing its quiet engine in an effort to improve its emission and fuel economy(hoping to extend its lifespan). It might sound abit of abitious but i hope that day will come true Shocked ! This shall prove our love for the Scania N113CRB! Pls post your thoughts here !! Mr. Green

I see, no wonder you got that idea & please pardon me for that. In my opinion, I doubt there's a high chance that you're allowed to do that but if its allowed & you got lots of $$$ to throw about, then I can't wait to see the Scania after its makeover Rolling Eyes

Hmm, I thought of such a thing too, and parking at heavy vehicle park can.
I thought of buying a Habit, off from SMRT, converting to long haul transport, then run Singapore-KL route...

Ya i know about that. LTA dont allow swapping of engines unless its the same model. Too bad! That's why i say "I hoped that day will come true!". But i dont nessesary need to swap the engine, i will only swap it if LTA permits . To jetabt767400, that's just what i thought! Buying an used public bus, retrofit it, then drive it to Malaysia!!!! And u can have your own cafeteria on the bus! Twisted Evil

The buses I'd like to see being preserved are the venerable CRBs, VO3Xes (gen I) and Habit bendies.

Erm we don't realli need to preserve the Habits, they are still long away from their retirement. If they are about to be retired, the CRBs would have been long gone!Are you refering to the SMRT's CRLs? I like the CRLs as well Very Happy , for their performances.However, im quite put off by their grey exhaust. I think they produce more grey exhausts than their CRB brothers. Regarding about the purchasing of bus, it is just a dream. It doesn't really need to be true. And also, i wouldn't want to have a cafeteria on a habit. It might just be stolen the next day if im not careful Shocked

Oh yes, i had sent an e-mail to LTA asking whether or not purchasing an used bus(SBST’s Scania CRB NAC) is allowed in Sg, as well as one to SBST. I don’t get disheartened easily, so i think there’s every hope as long as the “death sentence” is not passed!
