CNG is in Soon Lee is because the only place to pump up the gas
is in Jurong island. Soon Lee is the nearest depot.
CNG itself has ample power for ferrying even in full conditions.
Comparing CNG to the diesel buses, I'd comment that operationally
it loses out totally to Diesel. Diesel providence network is so
much well supported than gas. However, technically, CNG will be a
different approach. The exhaust this bus emits is so clean that it
is not a problem towards the environment at all.
However, the technical equipments involving the running of the CNG
bus is much more sophisticated than the diesel buses. The
technician involved in dealing with the CNG engine and fuel supply
systems must be separately accessed for this bus. Even the B9TL may
be less headache to the bus workshop than the CNG.
