Articulate buses/Bendy
Advantages Razz owerful acceleration,Faster boarding/Alighting/More paxs,More standees.Turning radius is excellent over rigid buses and DDs.
Disadvantages:Not good for long journey like 45 mins above.When the SL beats the lights he had to double worry whether the trailer had over the line or not(Risk of traffic camera flash).A disaster if it enter a basic bus stop meant for a bus only.(Poor behind buses)

Double Deckers/Superbus
Advantages:Good panoramic views at the upper deck,Comfortable for long journeys.Can seat more pax but not standees.
Disadvantages:Slow acceleration,Not friendly for senior citizens/disable peoples to go upper decks.Howling during climbing steep slopes and had to slow down on turns.Low branches!!

I defintely prefer DDs...

I believe Bendies can actually fit more passengers than DDs, but most of them are standing instead. On DDs, there are more seats.

I don't actually think it is that easy to topple DDs. All DDs (not lousy china rubbish buses) are tested with a tilt angle of IIRC 27 degrees with all upper deck seats filled with sandbags and lower deck empty, except for the driver seat, which contains a sandbag too.

Besides, the chassis is very heavy, with the engine and A/C mounted.

Do you mean comfort on the upper deck or lower deck? If upper deck you say comfortable on long trips then maybe you wrong, try taking 93 on a VO2x, and then the BC puts in full trottle, what a heck of a ride. VSO im not too sure, wikipedia says it got soft suspension, so maybe more comfortable. While taking 93 to Harbourfront, the circle line construction road there is the worst. Got alot bump then BC travels very fast, then see someone flag bus then suddenly jam brakes. Then my mother say" wah ai this bus driver anyhow drive sia" Shocked

That does not depend on whether the bus is SD or DD what... Like what you said, it depends on the road quality and BC...

But the VO2x have lots of legroom.

SMRT articulated bsues can legally hold 147 while the models of superbus in SBSt cna legally hold 131 people. but the exception is that the B9TL allows standees on the upper deck so i can equal the 147 load of any articualted bus in this island.

the reason why the SBStransit's articualted buses were sold is because they dun wish to operate bendybuses. simple as that

as for SMRTbuses they dun wish to use doubel deckers. simple as that

So it has a ZF gearbox? From what i know , some B9TLs have ZF 6HP502 6-speed while others have Voith DIWA 864.3 4 speed . So maybe the one with the 6-speed maybe shift faster due to the multi-speed. Mr. Green

You are wrong. B9TL does not allows for standing passengers at the upper deck.

Total seating for lower deck is 27, with 53 sitting at upper deck. Lower deck standing, in which each standee is calculated to occupy an area of 0.15 square meters, means that there is a total of 44 passengers standing. Due to the loading on the axles, it cannot take the maximum of 53 passengers standing, even though total standee area is 8.04 square meters.
