NEW Service 985W

How does Kranji Depot have enough buses to deploy for 985 when 985W is implemented? 985 should be controlled by Ang Mo Kio as well. If not then ask Woodlands...

SMRT has the right to do what it likes. You not happy u can always dont take the buses or Nissans. No one is pointing a knife at you to board their buses.

I dont understand.. be it Hino or Mercedes or Volvo, they are still buses right? 5 Volvos replaces 5 Nissans doesnt change anything.. Frequency and fares still the same.

what for whine here and there? and, you dont live in the bus, you only seat in it for a short while

Volvo Olympian SG

I believe the 985 and 985W may be sharing the buses since 985 has got about 16 DAF’s, maybe half can go to 985W …

swee_heng SG

Like that then the freq. of 985 is going to be crazy.

SBS9889U SG

u live in BB west then u not happy ur 985 freq become 30 mins ah?

Crap lah this guy..u stay in CCK, but i stay in BB. It dont affect me terribly. You just complain for the sake of complaining. 985 and 985W share the same buses. They have alternate trips.

Where got not enough? There are 985A to support for morning peak and Bendy in the morning peak.

I went over to the Swiss Cottage stop and there were not that many 985 riders. All depended more on 187,188 and 945. They have a fair share of pax demand there. The frequency there is bearable for you always have alternatives coming at you every 5-8mins or less.

those 2 stops not that affected and the deployment as well. They are doing fine with their 16 buses and random cameos.

having 985 and 985W doesnt affect the people at the other end as well.

I noted the timing written on the schedule and it seems that the frequency is the same as before when 985W wasnt even there.

you just hate NISSANS. thats the bottomline and you are jealous and claim that BB feeder have low demands. That is all your opinion and not facts anyway.

jetabt767400 SG

My old school, Dunearn Sec, can swamp a 187/188/947/985 bus anytime during the afternoon, especially the high time of 1420-1500hrs.
No point saying BB feeders have low demand, aunties going out to West Mall can also occupy most of the bus capacity.

GREED SG

There is no difference in both routes. Just that it serves a few other bus stop. Its such a minor change, why even open a thread for it?

muziq bus SG

As long as there is a new service, one can expect to see a new thread on it.

It is better than coming up with a thread like "Complains on certain buses" or a thread like "ALL you people..."

So there you have it.

Small changes like this, most probably east-siders take no notice to it anyway.
Like 68. So useless. 31 so useless. 80, so useless.

Thats cos im a west sider. So i see them as useless. SBS waste money on this kind of buses. But these are just examples only.

muziq bus SG

Oh ya, some of you guys claim that the W is confusing...

but 103W is one great example, so dont compare it with 243W

swee_heng SG

then why must SMRT waste buses by operating it?

TIB1018B SG

Services 103/103W is actually the same route until it reaches Seletar Camp, where they go different routes.

Services 243G/243W is the difference between Green and White plates, just like services 225G/225W, 231G/231W and 410G/410W. The difference is the directions travelled (clockwise or anti-clockwise).

GREED SG

Then why waste your time replying here?

muziq bus SG

Hello!

They still use the same number of buses as before!

They just make alternate trips.

And, there are passengers from that old stop 985W stops at.

105090 SG

another service with a similar scheme is 214W and 214E which has mutated to the present day 103/103W Very Happy

Does the W (in 103/985) stand for anything? Confused
