Hmmm actually service 700 mainly serves the people who goes to Shenton Way/Collyer Quay to work every weekday and Saturday. If this 921/700 merger is going to start come 18 June 2006, i believe it will affect the residents staying around Blk 270 that area (the bus stop before the BKE) very much as in after the merger, they have to walk all the way to Petir Rd bus stops and board service 700. That will cause a lot of inconviences to them. Unless they have a service 190B which goes to Shenton Way instead of Chinatown to cover up the loss of the links from Bt Panjang Rd (Blk 270) to Shenton Way. Wink

If they don't want to walk, they could take Sv190/960 to Whitley Rd and change to 700, which will cost a bit more.

With integration, SMRT can save only buses for sv921, REALLY bad news for those using the last bus stop along Bukit Panjang Rd to Shenton Way, if they walk, it's a long long walk, if they tfr,increase cost to them... SAD... Crying or Very sad

it will, the land is already being set aside and the interchange will be at millenia.

it's just a matter of when, and of cos to discuss the fate of 171 is a bit far-fetched cos it may be amended for other reasons even before BTL starts.

Sometimes thinking abt it, the ppl inside LTA prefers MRT over buses, no wonder the NSL/ EWL prob is coming... A Full MRT system replacing trunk buses totally is up to no good, other than the big amt of investment, commuters would end up making unecessary transfers

they need to acquire the land for DTSS and overrun land.

if u realised, the NEL tunnel does turn to jackson kopitiam side before making a weird sharp turn then turn sharply back to serangoon rd to align with boon keng rd.

the first reason is cos a DTSS tunnel is running under the NEL tunnel. and i thought that is the end.

now i noe why. it's the woodsville interchange and its vehicular tunnels above both NEL and DTSS tunnels.

it's a complicated mess underneath man.
