105090 SG While passenger cars have no lifespan expiry dates, other vehilces has an expiry date! namely buses, taxis, lorries, vans etc. and seems the diesel vehicles are the victims of lifespan expiry.. Yeah.. because, buses, taxis, lorries, vans are for commercial purposes, and hence, (its assumed) to be heavily used, and has a higher average mileage/year than passenger cars. We see cars being scrapped after 2 years, but lorries being extended maximum up to 20 years! Cars, no expiry, is scrapped prematurely.. how ironic!
SBS9611D SG A bit on VO2X past deployment: Svc 7, 10, 12, 14, 18, 30, 31, 61, 65, 70, 81, 99, 132, 147, 153, 165, 166, 186, 190, 196, 198 had them for permers at one time or other.
Apex-LW'21 SG To point out that the old Sv 188 used to terminate at Jurong Bus Park in 1990 after Jurong Int closed.
ZYX2005 SG let me make this clear s7 was HGDEP all the way only till recently. so the vo2x are from BBDEp 14's case is unsure. prob BBDEP. they could cameo on 61 ZYX
ZYX2005 SG 196 ones rocked. they got the newest ones. (7295 7296 7297 - 7295 seems split with 190) ZYX
ZYX2005 SG you are right the very first ez link card trial was in 1995 or 6? sbs800 and sbs831 bears evidence of the extra grip thing that held the blue machine zyx
brotherchen1982 SG Remember taking some LA/LO2xs on svc 28/154/157 with the pink/green seats cover & black plastic covered seats handles; upgraded like the type of seats(blue) & seat handles of a V02xs... *Normal LA/LO2xs had blue/green seats & uncovered metal seats handles.
iveco SG Svc 14 was ARBP/BNDEP all along, wasn't it? Same for 65. Wouldn't be surprised if 14 & 65 swapped buses occasionally. 196 only had 3 perm VO2X as far as I remember. these were 7278, 7296 & 7297.
stooper SG Do you mean the opening windows were removed? Quite a lot of them had their front opening windows replaced with a non-openable one.
brotherchen1982 SG Actually there's a lot more buses, mainly JIS buses Some spares of LO2xs were not produce anymore, so they replaced them with sheet windscreen instead. The pics of SBS3567M can be found on someone's photobucket/fotopic album...
Apex-LW'21 SG Yes, of course. Actually, there is a pics of SBS3555Y on Sv 97 also, it can be found on the SBH. (photo taken before the replacement of single sheet windscreen)
vivienlee SG Does anyone have a full list of which bus service used Albion Vikings and MB OF1413 in the 1980s?
Apex-LW'21 SG Transitlink Farecards were first used on SBS 78 & TIBS SS7 on 26/11/1990, it can be used on buses with validators. (Source: Transitlink farecard guide 1990)
