Nostalgia on Buses

Can anybody tell me more about the older buses, those engines in the font ?, like the OF's, MB 03xx, Leyland Victory, the Vkings ? Because I was born in 1992...

There was a sticker pasted on these VO3x that time, back in 1996 or 1997. It states SBS now serves services 864, 865 & 866. Something like that, I saw it on SBS9614X, SBS9615T and SBS9616R when they were on sv8 last time.

Saw them when I board a svc 865 DD when I joyride to the then developing Sengkang... Mr. Green

For me, I saw one DD with the same sticker on the day that SBS took over 864, 865, 866 from TIBS. Mr. Green

Before TIBS handed over the Sengkang Routes, they had a long sticker pasted on their 0405s (above the Doors.. sticker ran throughout the bus) :

i still miss the old LO2X. still remember i took it at Boon Lay during night time. like the engine sound and the windows will rattle when there’s a bump on the road.

u sure it happen in 1996/97? SBS9614/9615/9616 were introduced in 16 Jul 1999 .

If you take svc 154 LO2x, svc 30 DDs past the former Jurong Bus Pk ard 11pm, you can see the whole bus pk is parked with LAs, LO2xs...

When you take svc 30 DDs along Penjuru Rd where you can see lots of SBS buses inside the former Jurong Depot where svc 143 used to terminate.

When you take svc 189 DDs along Bt Batol St 23 where you can see lots of SBS buses inside the Bt Batok Depot as compared to current svc 189 SDs. Very Happy

You would also see those buses @ JRBP while you are on Sv 240 as it also passes by the former JRBP. Laughing Smile

Svc 240 only ply Jln Ahmad Ibrahim(AYE slip rd), although it is opp JRBP but is about 11 lanes away from Jln Ahmad Ibrahim, blocked by vehicles & trees along AYE so you can't really see the buses in JRBP. Mr. Green

How you can see the LAs & LO2xs in JRBP from such a distance during daytime & late at night when the lights in JRBP were not even switched on... Cool

when the LA and LO2x gang was about to retire, all of them parked at the empty "field" next to JR depot. the PIE flyover can see it very clearly.

but among the LA and LO2x, was MB O305 among the buses parked at the big field?

all i can say is, when i saw them parked there, they were waiting to be scrapped/ exported, so one day when crossing the flyover, they wee all gone! amazing

MB O305 were never parked at the big field of JRBP, instead some of them were being transferred to HGDEP.
