Are citybuses useful?

last SG · 2006-05-15T18:38:12+00:00

guess you going to fail your O Level English exam. Still want to get A2 when you do not understand what is Integration? You mentioned that SV148 was INTEGRA...

MingFreeman SG

I'm referring to the double deck volvo city buses with a different style of service number displayed.

Are they useful ?

Everytime i see them its always almost empty. At most 2 or 3 people in the entire double deck bus.

Besides, what are the interchanges they come from?

XTransbus SG

yes city buses are useful. Just imagine, if there is no citybus, you'll have to take taxi's everytime. Taking taxi everyday costs much much more than taking a bus.
According to mw
interchange means
1 : to put each of (two things) in the place of the other
2 : EXCHANGE
intransitive senses : to change places mutually
- in·ter·chang·er noun
it is better to have a not so empty buses than no bus at all.

MingFreeman SG

About the interchange thing, I was referring to which interchange or terminals they go to? e.g bedok, shenton way, marina etc ?

How come list out all the interchange n terminals in spore? Very Happy

I am asking which are the interchange and terminals which the city bus services terminate at?

SBS9889U SG

Marina Ctr Ter

stooper SG

I think he's talking about Citybuzz...

If he is, then Citybuzz buses just loop around the city, without terminating at any interchanges...

SBS9889U SG

pauses at Marina Ctr Ter.

XTransbus SG

yah. maybe he talking about citybuzz.
The emptyness of the bus explains the higher amout of fare charged. The use of those svc? To ease the ppl to go to the main tourist attraction eg.little india, chinatown ect. Those buses are usually taken by tourist and would have slightly more passengers during the festive season. and if you have an ezlink card you can earn more points.

sBs_boy SG

At least they provides me a direct link froM Chinatown to Suntec Area..

Yup, I know what he mean & just correcting VO post only... Laughing

With (only !) 2 to 3 people inside i believe you're referring to this
Citybuzz service, which is supposely targetted @ the tourist market.
But to the locals here i'll find this not a very 'useful' service, using
your choice of words !! Otherwise it should be often crowded with
people instead of only 2 to 3 persons. Many times i've seen it with
only 1 person i.e. the driver !!!!

SBS9889U SG

They shouldnt have increased the price of the CitybuzzPass.

iveco SG

One direction only. And it is overpriced.

I prefer 970 to be extended to MRC via High St & Suntec City and return via former 864 route, followed by Hill St.

CSS 604 should not have been withdrawn in the past. It linked CNT with Nicoll Hwy. In addition, 148 (CLE-Geylang Fringe) could have been extended to EUN via High St, Nicoll Hwy, Mountbatten, Old Airport, Tg Katong Rds and Sims Ave instead of being withdrawn.

SBS9889U SG

Both direction can as C2 serves one big round again again and again. If you transfer to a bus, the fare would be almost the same for non concessionary.

Apex-LW'21 SG

for 148, it is integrated with 147 if I'm not wrong.
btw, for CSS 604, agree with you. You may have to take the Great WOrld Shuttle to Great World City and wait for the City Hall shuttle, then board the Suntec City Shuttle at St Andrew's Cathedral.

Alternatively, take Sv 145 or 197 to Armenian Church and walk to St Andrew's Cathedral to catch the Suntec City Shuttle.
