Deployment of Hispano DAFs in the past

I remember tat Hispano DAFs were only seen on svcs 950, 951 and 952 for a start. These buses then went into other svcs during a NAC to PAC conversion in 1995 for most of the Tibs svcs. Remember tat it started off wif sv160 in Oct 1995, followed by 182, 852, 925, 927 etc... Rolling Eyes

not about DAF, but i remember...

169 got the first 2 trial O405 Hispano's in July 2004, 425R and 426M.

then on 6th Nov 1994, 851 became PAC with the addition of 427K, 428H, 429E, 430A, 431Y, 432U, 433S, 434P and 435L. 425R and 426M also joined in, so every other bus on 851 is air-con.

no, but someone said he saw the 2 buses on 169. i can only confirm the 851 part cos i was there. i also believe it can be done, but whether they charged AC or NAC fare then then i dunno lah.. Laughing

TIB391D - TIB404B were sold to UK in 1997, it had never been transferred to CSS fleet.
TIB405Z - TIB424T were transferred to CSS in 1997, somewhere in 2003, DAFs were seen getting lesser on the roads. Those DAFs were hibernating at GLDEP all along after that period of 2003-2004 before it set to be retired in 2005.

(PS: It seems that most CSS buses were adorned with advertisements and it has became tough to locate a good photograph with a bus in orange CSS livery)

TIB353P-TIB361R (NAC Hinos), TIB380K-TIB389L (CAC Hinos) and TIB390G (CAC Nissan U31 SCN) were also transferred to CSS in 1996-1997. It was re-registered to TIB290T-TIB309A.

When TIB405Z-TIB424T were re-registered to CSS270B-CSS289Z in 1996, most of its CSS routes were converted to PAC. Remembered tat service 605 got its DAF fleets in late 1996, followed by 602 and 607. 603 used mainly Hino and Nissan CACs, but had a DAF cameo before.

CSS had progressively withdrew most of its services and at the same time phased out all the Hinos that had reached its lifespan of 15 years. After CSS 605 was withdrawn in 2004, it was the DAF fleets to be phased out by then. At the same time, 9 CAC Nissans were being transferred to SMRT and re-registered to TIB1248D-TIB1256E. The one and only DL245 on CSS fleet (CSS310U) was also transferred to SMRT and re-registered to TIB1257C.

As of today, only Nissan U31 RCN (OAC and CAC) model is used to operate on CSS.

Correct me if i am wrong, it seems that the Hispano DAF has a lower ride height than the Hispano 0405? ( i mean the whole bus is closer to the ground than the 0405)

I personally doubt that, I mean the WA DAFs are of the same make and they have the same ride height as the others.

Don't forget that in late 1996, CSS haven't renumbered it to 602, 603, 607 yet. btw, I thought I read it from other sources that PAC conversion was started from CSS 5 than to CSS 7 & CSS 2?
