actually this RM20 levy is to deter south thailand vehicles from pumping cheaper fuel, and Singapore is the ultimate scapegoats..

With the possible RM20 fee imposed onto SG reg vehicles upon entry into Malaysia, it might hit hard on the public transport operators

If this happens, SG govt should impose the same on HI

1 day on a average 8 trips, it would cost SBS RM160 more a day per bus

It would mean RM58,400 per calender year per bus. Can buy 1/2 a bunglow in Malaysia already!

Dun laugh. Since when SBS buses pump their subsidised diesel? So just because SBS, SJE, SMRT buses are SG registered, so that means they can anyhow come and possibly charge that RM20 per entry? We dun even charge their cars when entering Singapore on Weekend! And they dare to say we charge RM45 on their cars upon entry!

Their HI drivers hardly take care when travelling along the congested Causeway

But the road tax payable to JPJ is cheap, for SBS is abt RM30 compared to abt S$1000 in SG

or ur infor, if i am not wrong, SBS 170&160 SMRT 950 have “special” type of buses, which means SBS SMRT have buses specially for these routes dat pays road taxes for malaysian roads…..next time if u happen travel on 170 160 or 950, look out for malaysia road tax sticker dat are displayed in front of the bus…..hence i concluded dat these cross boundary buses do not nid to pay the extra RM20 charges….........

At the current stage, what they want to implement is all SG reg cars on grounds that we go pump their subisidised petrol

it is likely that the public omni-bus services serving the causeway routes do not need to pay the additional RM20 entry fee. the purpose of the fee is clear, and it is likely to affect singapore-registered petrol cars only.

anyway, nobody seems to have highlighted the fact that they're still mulling over it. the actual guidelines are not out yet, and we won't know which group of vehicles will be affected.

for now, just wait for more news from malaysia.
