Sv59 no downroutes at all, the first bus is so late!

well, some driver(TIB 1065 P on 985) once called it half route...

great, i think i observed one just now. At 2310, i was at CCK rd and saw an numberless Scania ELBO(TIB 841Y) heading towards BB... i was a little confused as WDL depot was in the north and not in the direction of BB...

so after that, i boarded svc 187, TIB 1170 T(the centre plug out door not working).... at along BB West, i looked out the Window and saw TIB 841 Y at a bus stop... it had its EDS blank at first, then, the driver changed it to show 187(WDL).....and went off as a normal service....so im guessin its a down route as well?
Anyone has knowledge on this? Do comment...

that is why.... i am sure what i saw could be a down route...but i just don't see the point in having one....

Saw a CAC MBO405 with no EDS parked at bus stop(opp Ten Mile Junction LRT Stn) at Woodlands when my family were on 180 going to my relative hse in Bt Panjang sometimes back.

While we were waiting for 171/960/963, my mum thought that the CAC MBO405 turning into Bt Panjang Rd was 960 but the bus EDS show "187 WDL REG INT" when it entered the bus stop... Shocked

i once saw SBS9467D do downroute on public holiday night at around 9.30pm from selegie road/dhoby ghaut.

i suppose this downroute was due most likely to schedule. other causes possible are breakdown or extreme jams causing the bus to lag behind, thus it catches up according to his schedule.

i have personally encountered this, taking a 851 from yck terminal and following an off-service 162 until novena (wkday night buses are very fast), then i boarded his bus and just asked how come got this kind of downroute, and found out that orchard rd was jammed so he reached yck terminal late so have to catch up. Very Happy

depends on starter office at terminal. usually yes.

but usually these is slow in kick-starting..

once i waited 45 mins for 315. traffic jam at S'goon Gdns. Eventually, one bus was sent to S'goon North "downroute". But then, Serangoon could had got one other bus to depart, and not 45 mins!

Hmmm… I know 242 and 243 in the morning peak will have svcs starting halfway. 179 in the evening peak will also have svcs starting halfway.

243 has an A-shift schedule that starts halfway almost every trip.

The S-shift buses of the 3 243/199 xovers also starts halfway many times.

EDIT: A-shift is the AM shift, S are the split shifts(peak hour buses).

Sometime empty svc 179 DDs drive to NTU via svc 199 route while some empty svc 179 DDs drive the normal route to NTU to start in NTU.

Actually, all the 179 drivers use the 199 route with 179 destos on. Only the spare, inexperienced 179, drivers doing 179 take out the destos and use the 179 route.
