Can SBS use double deck or long bus during peak hour?

Many singaporean start work from 7.30am-9am. I had seen SBS single deck buses crowded with people and this is making the trip to work so unpleasant. I notice certain bus number only using single deck regardless of peak or off peak hour. Can SBS use double deck or long bus during peak hour to improve the bus ride?

I believe singaporeans deserve a pleasant bus ride to work and from work Very Happy

Er, can I inquire the meaning of “long bus”?

Depends. Some bus services like 66 and 105 forbid Double Decks on certain stretches of the roads. Don’t worry, new double decks would be out soon, just wait and see.

When you pass a bridge, you'll notice there's a height sticker. Most are 4.5m, suitable for DDs to pass. But there are some shorter than those.

So not all bridges have standard height limit of 4.5m?

Can be due to a wide nature of problems like low bridges, low trees. Usually low bridges and low trees. Usually they compensate with slightly better frequency. (which doesn't look like...)

u haf to understand restrictions...height, width or wadever... and some fleet is never 100% DD/bendy so dun expect DD/bendy lah...bound to haf sum SD de mah...
ways to solve the problem is the incresing of frequency...
and ur complain is typical and common and can be heard on streets, ppl cursing at SBST(the extreme ones)...but when u understand how SBST or SMRT works...den u may think tat it is not very possible...the very best they can do(sadly, sum svc jus haf poor sechduling), is try to make DD/bendy ply high demand route during peak hrs...but den svc like 66 can NEVER HAF DD(BT RD) due to low branches and 156(6th AVE) too

duh...not all standard...go to hillview(but den no SBST buses ply there)...other common reason of tree are 6th AVE and Bukit Timah Rd(bet NEWTON CIRCUS and WHITLEY RD)...and dun ask y the tree cannot be chopped off...coz NParks say so(rumour onli)...

as a bus company, u ought to find out right? u dun expect to deploy a DD and goes crashing into the bridge(this happen b4) normal bridges is 4.5m, jus 10 cm more b4 the DD goes CRASHING into the bridges...another bridge with restriction is @ National Stadium if im nt wrong...
