It's ok to stick to the TIB plate as that gives the fleet some sense of its history & roots ! This SMRT label i find it largely of not too much relevance...

They should not have selected fabric type of seat cover !
That's seems more appropriate for cold countries where people sweat less & tend to deposit less body etc. dirt behind on the seats.

In the tropicalised humid climate here, i'll have preferred the M-B tex type of seat cover, with plenty of ventilation thru the seats as such.

Perhaps the seat maker Vogel Sitze then didn't have that much variety of seat covers to offer ?

9889U has much better seats though... The fabric is by SBS themselves I think since you can see "SBS Transit" all over the seat.

I notice in some newer double-deckers they now also use similar fabric-covered seats from Vogel Sitze. These German seats are firmer but their overall quality finishing etc. is superior to those other (suspect local) make of seats often used by SBST.

The SBST older type of seats has more & softer cushioning but lacks the firm support from the German seats. If sitting on a longer trip the firmer German seats tend to be more comfortable although they appear uncomfortablely hard on shorter trips.
