SBS3616E is inside AMDEP, parked just beside SBS3572Y. Can see from the road, near the driving centre. However, i noticed the front cover (with the scania logo) were removed. The rear engine cover were open also.... maybe they are taking the spare parts to use on other?

unlikely to be used as a spare parts bus, as it will be laid up. paying $1700+ a year just to idle is not very helpful.

so that is SBS 3616E? i am taking my driving lessons at SSDC and everytime i noticed a Scania parked beside 3572Y. is the bus just like 3572?

SBS71X might have been combusted in the Great AMDEP fire in 1993-1994.

0071 was on svc 16 when it spontaneously combusted along ECP en route to Changi Airport. That incident was famous. Still remember its photo in the newspaper. Can't remember the exact year, though.

And I think 3575 was the svc 90 bus that burst into flames along MacPherson Rd the same day 3693 hit a pillar at Toa Payoh temporary interchange.

SBS71X might be combusted in 1999 or 2000. I also can't remember which year.
SBS3593L hit a pillar at the Toa Payoh Temp Int, not 3693.

I think service_238 might be clearer about this point. According to him, the bus that whacked the pillar later became the first CAC Scania in SBS fleet. Many people are saying 3693 was chosen as the guinea pig.

The next day carried the train disruption along NSL because of train derailment after YCK station.

SBS3693 crashed many times. so far i have records of two. mal says 3 i think.

the front of the bus has been patched up many times. odd looking front.

I reckon 3625D had an acident before, it has a MB0405 WA front if I am not mistaken. In fact if I remember right, it was on 268 when it rammed something….another bus?

yeah.. 3625D has MB O405 WA front but not really noticeable since Scania fronts look similar.

The head-lamps change, got grille, and has the sme wind-screen as the MB0405.
