The bus stops are of this nature because that place was formerly
a terminal, Jalan Kayu Terminal. One bus stop is used for boarding
and another was used for alighting.
The bus stops are now used to differentiate the directions of where
the buses are going. Just take a look at the service plates at the
bus stop and you can see plates stating:
-Bus stop 1-
86 to Sengkang
39 to Tampines / 168 to Bedok
858 to Changi Airport
-Bus stop 2-
86 to Ang Mo Kio
39 to Yishun / 168 to Woodlands
858 to Woodlands
103 and 103W doesn't need the bus stop directional plates as
operating hours plates will display all information needed.
