To buy the NSF bus/train consession, you must have the NSF
ez-link card first, which is green in colour. (I have one myself
)
If you haven't enlisted yet, you will automatically be given the
card once you enlist (this rule only applies for NSF enlisting
after a certain month last year, can't remember which month).
If you're presently an NSF and you wish to apply for the card or
that your card has expired before you ORD (both happened to me
before), you can go to your adminstration office to apply or fill
in the extension form. Then you can continue your "free" travel on
buses & trains.
