Marina Centre Terminal

CityBuzz Svcs & SMRT NightRider Svcs do terminate there. (As for CityBuzz, when operation ends at 10pm)

samtlk SG

and how do u suppose they go to Esplanade from there? Plus there's already sv36 at the opposite busstop.

There is...you can take sv36 to Orchard & transfer to sv111 (or sv105 from opp Four Seasons Hotel).

Apex-LW'21 SG

Svc 864 is also one-direction. Raffles Blvd (Suntec City) is a one-way street.

Svc 97, 111, 502 & 857.

samtlk SG

What he means is the busstop at Temasek Boulevard going towards Rochor Rd. Currently only sv107X stop there & sv36 at the opposite stop.

Apex-LW'21 SG

Do you mean the bus stop outside Suntec City?
(B04 Temasek Blvd)

sinicker SG

after SICEC bus stop, services like 502, 133 make a 270 degrees turn.
107X makes a 180 degrees one. the one straight ahead.

wah lau, my explanation sucks.

gorby107 SG

the bus stop under the bridge(linking two Suntec Towers)

samtlk SG

B02 Temasek Blvd, just before Rochor Rd directly under the bridge linking Tower 2 & Tower 3.

Apex-LW'21 SG

should be Svc 36 & 107X. (not sure)

samtlk SG

B02 - sv107X
B01 - sv36

If services like 162X or 700A stop there, then there's no way for them to pick up passengers along Raffles Ave since Rochor Rd is one-directional & leads directly to Beach Rd. Plus the demand there is not high as opposed to the ultra high demand along Temasek Ave & Raffles Ave.

If you look at the thread on old Tibs routes, it is mentioned that 864 called at Suntec Tower II.

Apex-LW'21 SG

Never mind, but I have the TL Guide 1999, just checked TIBS 864 route. After Bras Basah Rd, it calls at Temasek Ave & Temasek Blvd before terminating at Marina Ctr Ter and vice-versa.

samtlk SG

Direction 1:
Bras Basah Rd (os Raffles Hotel)
Temasek Boulevard (os Suntec Convention Ctr)
Temasek Ave (opp Centennial Tower)
Marina Ctr Ter

Direction 2:
Marina Ctr Ter
Raffles Ave (bef Temasek Ave)
Temasek Ave (os Ritz Carlton, os Centennial Tower)
Temasek Boulevard (opp Suntec Convention Ctr)
Temasek Ave (opp Ritz Carlton)
Raffles Ave (opp Oriental Hotel, opp Marina Sq)

IMO sv106 could've used back this route instead of making people walk all the way from Suntec to the opposite side of Marina Sq.

iveco SG

106 should return via this way.

PhyrePhox SG

I second that! It's rather troublesome that you can get to Suntec City in 106, but have to walk all the way to Esplanade to take the bus back.

Anyway, anybody knows why 97, 111 and 502 have the looping point set at "Marina Centre" instead of "Suntec City" as what SMRT has set to the buses? After all, these buses do not come as close to Marina Centre as those buses that terminate there such as 75.

samtlk SG

Different looping points.

The following are the actual looping points:

70X, 97, 111, 133, 162X, 502: Temasek Ave opp Ritz Carlton (Marina Centre)
Amended 502: Raffles Ave opp Marina Sq (Marina Centre)

700A, 857, NR1: Temasek Ave opp Centennial Tower (Suntec City)

gorby107 SG

How about 107X

Is the looping point is at Raffles Boulevard(Millenia Walk)????

or one of the next two bus stops???

samtlk SG

Raffles Boulevard outside Pan Pacific Hotel (Marina Centre)

Donavan SG

Since some buses loop same point, got different name, standardise lol!!!

PhyrePhox SG

Physically still same route.. Just different points, technically.. I still think they should standardise.. I feel that the bus is nearer to Suntec than Marina Centre and they should stick to familiarity than technicality.

muziq bus SG

i observed 106's timesheet and noticed the driver rest for 5 minutes... so looping could be possible... rest at BB is 15 mins....but the drivers always chiong and have more rest time....
