New Fast Forward Service 89e from Mon, 19th Sept

89e became sv89. i saw a BC changed it to 89 when re-entering Pasir ris. not sure if it is on revenue to HG. theres 5 trips for sv89E. 0651 - 0739 from HG....

starting next monday, residents of hougang & sengkang will have a faster alternative to work at loyang ind est, changi village and changi airport cargo complex with the introduction of SBS Transit Fast Forward service 89e.

89e Hougang Central - Changi Airport Cargo Complex

Morning peak: 6.45am - 7.45am
Evening peak: 5.45pm - 6.45pm

>> Calls at the 3 stops along Hougang Ave 10
>> Skips the stop opp The Rivervale
>> Calls at all stops in Sengkang Town (Sengkang East Ave, Compassvale Rd/St and Punggol Rd)
>> Express along TPE, Pasir Ris Dr 12 and Pasir Ris Dr 3
>> Calls only at the 3 stops along Loyang Ave bounding Loyang Ind Estate
>> Calls at the stop along Telok Paku Rd outside Changi Village
>> Calls at all stops inside Airport Cargo Complex including Police Pass Office (In evening peak, calls at an additional stop along Nicoll Dr outside Changi International Exhibition Centre)

note that fast forward services 10e and 30e will also be launched on the same day. (see other thread)

This looks like the 1st ffw service that dosen’t passes by town. I think the loads will be good judging by the full buses on the svc before it even reaches TPE.

yeah. a bold and rare move to bypass a town altogether.. can see this bus sure have a lot of potential to do well. still, Fast Forward services are dedicated to the working class of ppl and not for social purposes..

They should charge them with normal adult fare. Those people working and taking bus to work, the salary will not be enough for them to buy a car???? Correct me if I am wrong. Working adults should be given privilages for their hard work to Singapore

but there are still slackers around....well, if charge adult fare rite, den not basic plus service liao...den SBST will lose $$$ bcoz they run express, skipping sum area...so muz charge u more to recover the loss... its like to get to destination faster, you muz pay more....sumthing like tat....

Hello! The most expensive fare on Fast Forward services by cash is still cheaper than taking bus 240.

Honestly, the opinions are getting absurd!

1) How do you know that all the people working and taking bus to work has not enough salary to buy a car?

2) Privileges? Why don't you say provide free transportation? Blah blah blah...

3) And the part on slackers...hello! This comment is getting ridiculous. It's not everyone's choice to be a slacker. And it's not right to call them a slacker! Some of them are unemployed because due to unfortunate circumstances and not out of their choice. How can you call them slackers? That's so not very compassionate of you Alex.

I would beg to differ. If you are saying that there are slackers around, they would be taking cabs, NOT buses. Also, not all slackers are willing to pay so much for travelling between Destination A to B. Hmm say, if such service could bring you to school faster, and you don't mind paying so much, do you call yourself a slacker? The answer is YES. Laughing

slacker - an unemployed person who has not enough $$ to take an FFw service

slacker - an employed person who is lazy to take a bus coz' it's packed

I think this is a good idea for those staying in hougang area and working in Changi cargo area as this will save their time. Bus fare may cost slightly more but I think it’s worth it as long its get to their destination faster. They can wake up later to go to work too so this is good for both SBST and commutors.

the 89e can be seen as a proper Express service, similar to its 5xx counterparts as seen from running long express sectors, unlike some, such as 97e, or 502 which express for only along certain sectors along its route.

and yes, pasir ris is a high population area, it sure take very long if 89e goes there, so yeah.. a good move.
(take 53 from HG to CGA bia PSR can make u cry)
