Okay, if it isn't temporary, can you explain to me why the structure for the interchange doesn't looks like it's for permanent, and why is the interchange structure so small in size with no space for future extension.

With the MRT Boon Lay extension (BLE), there is a plan to integrate Boon Lay bus interchange with a commercial complex and also a plan for a bus terminal next to the station in Joo Koon. But whether both plans will be implemented or not, we shall wait for the authorities to announce them.

how about simei interchange? there hasn't a bus interchange/terminal in simei and it can bring some services from overcrowded bedok n tampines interchanges to there Neutral

Simei is part of Tampines and a interchange is not likely. As there is feeder from Tampines serving there and also MRT too(just like Khatib, Yew Tee which is still part of a town and not independent. They also do not have interchange there too) But setting up a bus terminal is still likely

Very unlikely there will be a bus interchange or terminal at Simei because the load doesn't warrent one as there are buses that links to Bedok , Tanah Merah , Tampines and Pasir Ris. In addition the frequency of svc 9 and 38 is pretty reasonable.

In my opinion, Simei estate is underserved by bus services. Having only 3 public daily bus services (ie. 9, 12 and 38.) in Simei is definately not enough. Service 12 should be amended to ply Simei St 3 and Simei Ave to serve more passengers.

i think that if you look in a way that involves not only buses but MRTs too. things would be very different.. like what ppl had said.. Simei have 1 MRT stn... thus.. 3 bus Services IMO is enough.

I think the number of bus services in a town is determined by the demand and the population size in it, not whether it has a MRT station or not. Neighbouring Tampines also has a MRT station but its bus services are lot more than in Simei due to the larger population and therefore the higher demand.

But I still feel 3 services in Simei is insufficient.

PTC has a rule that states a trunk bus service must be provided for every 3500 dwelling units in a town with an MRT station. Apparently the 3 services already meets this standard,hence no need for more services in Simei.

Although the 3 services in Simei has meet the PTC standard, but I hope SBST will continue to introduce or amend services to ply the town when there's a demand.

I have noticed that people from Simei always take the 3 services to Tampines East CC and transfer other services opposite. There is a need for another service there to bring them other places directly instead of transfer and transfer.

Guys, is ok without an interchange....or else Singaporeans would already complain or some sort.
If u'all feel Simei needs an interchange, then what about Bukit Gombak? Or Yew Tee?
