I belief 401 needs more publicity and faster frequency.

From what i have observed since the shortening of 401 since 4 Dec 2004, there are very little or almost no pax boarding 401 along any stops(like Blk72/74, Parkway Parade) on Marine Parade Rd(after still rd south exit). However, there always seems to more passengers alighting from 401, even till the last bus(On Sunday), there are still passengers.

Maybe SBST should try something more daring to the route like extending its operation hours to be something like that of Parks409 as there wouldnt be much bus @ Marine Parade after 2400. This may be useful to the residents of Marine Parade/Bedok area.

401 was great when it terminates at Geylang Lorong 1. then it calls at many stops along EC park, now, the trip towards marine parade, 401 only calls at 6 stops along ECP before turning to Marine Parade Rd. very inconvenient.

the main points of ECP are bedok jetty, food centre, seafood centre, marine cove. further down, nothing much already..

but bedok jetty and food centre remains unserved. it's a pity, really. usually ppl buy BBQ stuff at Parkway Parade area and walk back.. if frm PP, 401 can go back to ECP quickly, it would be good.

If svc 409 has poor demand after 12am, then I think 409 will end its operations before 12am daily.
