during off peak hours how do we determine whether the sbst 98 bus goes to jurong port road since both 98A n alternative trips of 98 will loop at taman jurong – - jln ahmad ibrahim instead.

check the side desto before boarding...the side destos for all 3 routes are different

The alternative trips will duplicate sv240 at Jln Ahmad Ibrahim & loops back to Jurong East Int.

SWT 98 has plares on the side looking like this:

Jurong East Int -> Corporation Road -> Jurong East Int
sometimes can have 2 or 3 consecutive 98A then have a original 98 (full route)

the normal 98 has red and white side plates to facilitate the Jln Tepong area.

The service that loops back to Jurong East will display the usual 98 front desto.

not at Corporation Rd. 98A goes off service at Corporation Rd. Last time the BC will turn into the old Jurong buspark, but now I only saw them go straight up Jurong Port Rd.

well..if you're not going to Jurong Port Rd, eg only going from MRT to Taman Jurong, any bus also can take. Only those who needs to go to Jurong Port Rd have to take note of the destos.

not necessary. AFAIK some buses go back empty via AYE, Jurong Town Hall Rd, while some go back to SLBP.

theres some flexibility on 98A. as mentioned, may change plates to normal 98, may return to depot or interchange or labelled 98A and loop back to jurong int on revenue.
i took a 98A towards Jurong Int before last year.. not sure bout the politics now.

theres many ppl to/from jurong east to jurong east/west ave 1 and up to corporation road, hence needs more buses. lesser ppl goes to jurong port, so theres many 98A than 98

To know whether 98A terminates at Corporation Rd or loops back to Jurong East, all we need to do is to look what is written on the 98A bus stop plates along the route. This should be accurate unless SBST didn’t update the bus stop plates.
