Thank goodness 167 and 82 will not meet the same fate. I had been fearing the former might get truncated a la 82 & end up as YCK-SBW end loop service.

So will 882 cover the SBW Int-SBW end sector of 167 & will 167 be renumbered 987?

hmm..if any of the yishun svcs get extended to SBW, then 859 will become redundant

maybe they should extend 964 to sembawang

Yeah, prehaps through integration with either 852 or 857.

964 will duplicate 962 if it gets extended to Sembawang.

I think the original route of Svc 171 is long enough already and a trip can take 2 hours or more, hence I don't think they would want to extend Svc 171. If you want direct link between Bt Panjang & Sembawang, ask them to extend 187 instead, although chances are not much higher.

yes, they shud have a service that runs thru the WDL Int. ppl frm admiralty have to go WDL and change to take a service towards marsiling (say 187/963) and ppl frm marsiling have to go to WDL to take a service towards admiralty (say 858/965/969).

maybe SMRT shud have a through service into WDL. the one that admiralty/SBW residents need most towards marsiling and beyond.

say if 187 is a SBW - BNL service, 187 towards BNL can pick up passengers at its current berth than move off to BNL. for the direction towards SBW, a berth on the other side of the int would do the trick!

Nah.. it'll create a double loop around Woodlands Loop. Then you'll need some kind of White/Green plate service to do that. Troublesome and confusing.

yes, so that's why i said "the one that admiralty/SBW residents need most towards marsiling and beyond". so SBW residents need not have the hassle of switching frm bus to bus or train to bus like what they're experiencing now. moreover, a new town takes 10 years to mature. so, more can be done for SBW.

looking at the northern area it seems that the only route with high demand would be the WDL Checkpoint area SBW.

And that is fufilled by 856.

In fact 856 already fufills the Marsiling link as well.

180 is better placed for that purpose. 171 is already quite a long route.

What about extending 960? It makes better connection to Marina Centre for Sembawang residents.

Too long.. Have you tried taken 960 from Marina Centre to Woodlands before? That stretch along Woodlands Road will be too unbearable for Sembawang residents.

agree... not onli tt, the bt timah stretch is simply a torture... from bt panjang to bugis alone takes 40- 50 mins... from woodlands can die... from sbw i'll rather take 167 or train...

- The route is Already very LONG.. By extending it.. you wan the drivers to suffer.. ??

for 852..
- If extended.. i might as well go North to WDL and transfer t0 187/178 ??
