I remember someone was hit by a bus and killed at BNL Int some years back.

Also, BDK Int entrance also quite accident prone at one time. Usually involve cyclists.

Not only bus drivers. I think that is one of their regulations. But for SAF, I know that all vehicle have to horn when they are reversing. This is to ensure that there is no one behind the vehicle and other vehicles know that they are going tor reverse.

One turning left and another turning right while reversing? There is only one way out of the parallel berths, and that is only possible if you reverse left.

And the svc 160 accident must be quite recent, of course.

The berths for 30 is at the end. There is no way for 30 to reverse left, so it has to reverse right first.

Really, those BCs are being made to do the twist, aren't they? I think BBT also has something similar, maybe worse. During SBS era, 106 had a parallel berth. Later when Tibs took over and deployed bendies, it was moved to a saw-tooth berth. BNL still can allow 172 & 187 bendies to occupy the parallel berth.

i believe that the main point in this topic is "Why do BCs sound the horn while reversing fromt he bus bay?"

its merely a safety precaution..in tamp int there are notices put up informing commuters not to be alarmed as it is just a safety procedure to avoid accidents caused by colliding buses..cos there have been accidents before..imagine buses colliding every now and then at the bus parks.. Shocked

Its freq around the island. Not only the single birth but even at an extent, the Depots. Buses are much harder to be driven than a normal road car. Like posted earlier, there is this 'blind spot' wer driver cant see the rear. The side view mirrors are of not so useful. Thats why u see cameras on some bendies.
