Allowing SBS to run a subway line was a big gaffe. Rail
resources are better managed by a single entity. Even Melbourne, a
much larger city, has only a single rail operator. As for bus
services, it is possible to have a handful of operators, depending
on the size of the city. It is possible to have up to 3 of them in
Singapore, since Perth, despite its smaller size, has one bus
operator more than we do.
