It wasn't Devil's Bend, it was The Snakes.
It's pointless to speculate if the driver was speeding. Why
would he or his passenger admit to it and implicate themselves?
Besides, a lot of things could have caused them to lose control
- moisture, oil, bumps and even leaves and the wildlife. I've seen
a pick-up truck plough straight on at moderate speed at the same
bend before my eyes while cycling there...and I've also had close
shaves with clowns who were taking the racing line through the
forest.
