trust me, it'll come out sooner or later. i predict, within 2
years, the selected bus stops & interchanges will have some
form of ETA system up, probably working in tandem with LTA's own
Bus Travel Information System (BTIS).
the turnkey fleet management solutions provider Orbital, which is
also involved in many areas involving military, space and satellite
technology, has the obligation to roll out all components of AVMS
under the contract signed with SBS Transit. the first of the 6
components, the schedule adherence sub-system Autonomous Bus
Service (ABS), is already fully implemented across the fleet.
The full capability of TMS' fleet management system include OrbCAD,
SmartData, SmartMDT, SmartTraveler, SmartTrack, SmartStop and
SmartCount. i shall not go into the details.
the Transportation Management Systems (TMS) division of Orbital
Sciences Corpn will be involved in deployment, integration and
implementation of the entire system, which also includes 25
despatch stations. Sanyo supplies and installs the in-vehicle units
IVU-300 across the entire fleet.
the total contract is worth US$19.5mln, with Orbital taking
US$13mln and Sanyo $6.5mln.
