Fares Undercharging

For the 3rd time, i've managed to ride a full direction for $0.64.

In the first time,
RIDE 1: 086, YCK MRT to Jln Kayu. Costs $0.64, when it shld be $0.85.
RIDE 2: 039, Jln Kayu to Pasir Ris Ctrl. Costs $0.39, when it shld be $0.80.

Another time, all my 4 trips in a journey costed $0.64 before rebate. Hence it's only $1.81 ($0.64+$0.39+$0.39+$0.39).

Today, I took 072 from Tampines Int to YCK Ter. $0.64 only.

This thing is completely random i.e. it only happens on some days.

anyone experience this before?

i took sv921 on the nissan and its fare stage was 1.0 all the way Rolling Eyes
sv72, i saw something strange b4.. its exit readers read as "ENTRY/EXIT" all the way and never entered sleep mode, tho the f/s changes..

i rather they stop all these ez-link, GPS and VLS nonsense and save up the money or lower down fares.. these things are “frills” to everyone, esp the GPS.. SGP so small how a bus can get lost?

The SC must not have noticed that the VLS is in manual mode & didn't update the farestage accordingly.

Sleep mode can be switched on/off from the IDFC (function 6). The ENTRY/EXIT on exit readers function (Automatic mode) has been taken out from the IDFC so there's only 3 options now -- 1) All readers ENTRY mode 2) All readers EXIT mode 3) Normal mode (entry readers show ENTRY/EXIT & exit readers show only EXIT)...

Talking about this. I encounted a very amusing ride on Service 74. I was sitting service 74 (Direction towards Bouna Vista), in a MK II bus. I was sitting at the very front seat (overlooking the driver’s cab). Halfway through the ride, I saw the BC fiddering with the VSL EZ Link system. I peeped into the font. Oh my, the VSL on the EZ Link has some problems. It has lost its “communication” so the fare stage could not be updated and it is not responding to the outside world. The driver had tried to manually update the farestage but cannot. So he tride to re connect again. But you know what, the message said ” Connection failed”. So he tried again and again but to no avail. So, from AMK Ave 3 (the french school) till Marymount road the EZ link system could not work. People could not tap upon alighting and people who board the bus must pay cash. I witness the whole incident. Until Marymount road, suddenly, the system has re-established its connection. I wonder how that happened !

no. the fare stages are as reflected.

somehow they jus decided to deduct just $0.64 out of the blue.

it sounds like a programming bug, not adriver or VLS error. tat one can spot right away.

I was replying to the post by 105090. Anyway for yours it could be you're at the point whereby a difference by half a farestage = difference in fare, ie stage 4.5, 7.5, 10.5 etc, and the farestage has not yet been updated to the current stop when u tapped your card. Sometimes the VLS can't determine the location because of communication errors. In these kind of cases the farestage will only be updated automatically only when the doors are opened fully or by driver intervention.

and the farestage has been set to yck stage (confirm) and tappable (not in no entry mode).

if fare calculations dun make sense.. then deduct minimum. Very Happy

reminder - adult fares now 64 cents

but i guess some of us is stil used to quoting 63 cents.

on the VLS matter.it happened to me on 154 bus b4. the connection gone disappear. then chaos. lots of errors on alighting and boarding.

such chaos casued the 154 to slow down vs timesheet.
