Why not share some of your experiences or recommendations about
overseas public transport?
I'd recommend Australia - esp if you're a railway fan. Sydney has
many double-decker trains while Melbourne has diesel and locomotive
driven goods and passenger trains, electric metropolitan trains and
electric trams.
I like Melbourne most, as it has many different and interesting
varieties of public transport. Quite a number of new-generation
trams had been deployed for revenue service. Travel on V/Line
regional trains - if you're interested in diesel/diesel locomotive
driven trains.
As for metropolitan trains, I recommend travelling the Werribee
line - its a scenic route and its thrilling when the train travels
at high speeds between the last few stations - which I estimate at
~100 to 110 kmh...
