I think MRT is better.

sbst275 SG

All depends lah... Like TAP - Kallang, dun think ppl want to take MRT

sbst275 SG

There is no Ubi new town... It is all under Geylang actually...

Sv 385 case a bit special, as ENS is nearer to some parts of Bedok Reservoir Rd

Yeap... Sv 331 was gone with JUDEP closure.

334 & 335 cover the older part of JW since JE Int was the nearest bus facility when the flats were first built. N6-9 of JW were built much later. The purpose of BNL Int was to serve the residents in JW extension.

How about BMR feeders? They penetrate deep into Teluk Blangah, don't they? Or is Teluk Blangah considered part of Redhill too?

iveco SG

Does anyone remember the time svc 96 was a feeder route? It used to charge a flat fare of 40c in the past.

My 2¢ thoughts...

You may feel very unjust, but i would urge you not to type in BIG CAPS because it reflects that you are "shouting" and reveals your belligerent character. Anyway the last 2 weords: " No offence" is very ironic as you've made a personal attack on sbs_boy that he is a nuisance. That is certainly not the way to react. Anyway, enough of this crap.

P.S: Pls keep to the topic, thanks.

sbst275 SG

Hmm... Checked again, Sv 151 also not very profitable during off peak

Overheard nasty comments on Sv 151 onboard Sv 154 when going to Clementi

SBS9889U SG

Not exactly.

TIB1171R SG

Interesting. How do you guys define profitability?

sBs_boy SG

Ultra High Loads --> Profit
Low Demand --> Loss in Profit..

Get It ?? Laughing Very Happy

Correct, service 331 was formerly service 241.

When Jurong Depot was closed in May 2002, service 143 which terminated here (also known as "Teban Gardens terminal".) was extended to Jurong East interchange. Service 331 was withdrawn with service 143 extension. Similarly, amendments were made to service 51 to ply Pandan Gardens and service 78 to ply West Coast Rd (between Jurong Town Hall Rd and Teban Gardens Rd) as a replacment for the route of service 331.

TIB1171R SG

Very subjective. More pax, more buses used, more operating costs incurred.

tranquilice SG

I have taken the full route of all 3 mentioned. Laughing

I took a service 14 bus on a Saturday night in April 2004 during the Nicoll Highway closure. Board at Bedok interchange at 6.15pm and alighted at Clementi MRT station at 8.40pm thanks to the congestion in the city. Rolling Eyes

sBs_boy SG

If thats the case.. Low frequency + Ultra high demand.. ??
Will that do.. ? might as well take away all the seats.. change it to All-standing.. make it budget.. even better.. like that.. MORE PROFIT for them... and we can board the bus.. Win-Win solution.. Laughing

156>> Good load, little money

CAIX SG

Yes. Last time service 156...

Serangoon interchange to Clementi interchange

Now...

Sengkang interchange to Clementi interchange

sbst275 SG

How much is the cost I ask you if the bus is fully loaded?

Townlink 268 SG

how much on average does a bus collects in fares on a trunk service on a say, AM peak with full loads, off peak with 40%, PM peak with 80%?
svcs like 268 (AMK mrt >> ind pk 2) can easily collect 64 cents X 87 = $55.68 for a 15mins trip, and this dont even includes the journey from ave9/4 to ave 3/MRT, which is a near full load as well.. calculating roughly, 268 at 8am can make about $100 for the first direction.. for the return trip, its lesser, maybe about 40 pax for $25.60 maiking a ttl of $125, excludes bus pass pax. not bad..

tranquilice SG

Service 156 is mainly serving students in the Bt Timah area who live in Bishan, Serangoon North and Sengkang.
