From what i have read from the SMRT annual
report of 2005, on the topic buses, SMRT
buses or SBS transit buses have to pay
licences to the PTC. an annual fee of $50
have to pay for each route and is on yearly basis. In addition to
any route amendments, a one time fee of $10 have to be paid to
PTC. This shows that SMRT may not have much revenue on buses and will like to
remain on the present state and thus does not introduce new routes
as fast as what SBS Transit have introduced.
Without new services, SMRT might not want to
purchase more models as it will not be cost efficient.
