LTA requires all scheduled point-to-point service to use only
PA-registered buses only. tis is to prevent SBS, TIB and other
public service vehicles from eating up the pie.
tat is the reason why SBST converted about 20 Merc O405's and
painted them in SBSL livery, so that they can tender and compete
with private sectors for the Jurong Island Services (JIS)
routes.
tat is also the reason why both SBST and SMRTB kept some PA-plate
buses, like those B10M's on Turf City and the UMW's on Tekong
Shuttle.
