yeap. saw the news as well.. but still, their fares will still remain very l.ow as compared to SBS and SMRT.

sbst275 SG

But this signals something, it is not just public tpt operators that are tied with the higher fuel cost

iveco SG

What about school bus fares? Are they going up as well?

carbikebus SG

IMO Scheme B buses doesn't need too much fare raise as all the buses are Manual Transmission which doesn't consume much diesel compared to SBST & SMRTB Automatic transmission buses Razz

sbst275 SG

It will all see the movement of the disel price.

It is believed the Scheme B buses are asking for a 10c hike, as they are non basic svs, it need not follow the new fare formula

105090 SG

Scheme B svcs are cheaper by the others by 30 cents to 70 cents.
but still, a ten cent fare increase is still resonable as they had not increased their fares for many years.

Actually... Scheme B rts are just to supplement the drivers earning.. As they run 1 trip in the morning, 1 trip at night... Then other times run charter...

Now is because of the running fuel cost.

sbst275 SG

But, are their svs reliable?

Sometimes happened that there is a charter in the morning, the driver goes for the charter.. And happens that is the only bus, no bus for that day

105090 SG

yeah. Scheme B buses not reliable. some drivers operate as school buses, then rush down to operate as Scheme B services. in fact, whether they want to operate the SchemeB services is up to themselve sometimes

I take schoolbus to school when i was in primary school. Every morning, after alighting us at 7.00am, the schoolbus will rush to serve as service 640 during the morning, at about 7.05am.
BTW, sometimes i ask the driver what type of service he is driving and he told me alot of the Scheme B service and thats how i got to know the Scheme B services

Scheme B bus fares will go up by 20%

sbst275 SG

New bus fare... (Roughly if based on 20% benchmark)

NAC
Currently - From July
$0.40 ($0.50)
$0.50 ($0.60)
$0.60 ($0.75)
$0.70 ($0.85)

AC
$0.50 ($0.60)
$0.65 ($0.80)
$0.80 ($1.00)
$0.90 ($1.10)

Sv 625
$1.80 ($2.00)

It seems that Scheme B short dist fare for NAC no where cheaper from SBS aft the revision
