THe Merc O305s were mainly based in HGDEP, weren’t they?

These buses are either scrapped or export to other country. I ever seen one 0305 at Bintan resort sometime in year 1999. Maybe it is one of the earlier batch of buses being deregistered.

When 25 was using O305s, 25 was based in HGDEP.

As well as 166. But the bulk of them were based in HGDEP. Towards the end of their lifespan, I saw them serving 385.

no, it is not mercedes.

these non air-con DDs are known as Volvo Olympian 2-axles, or VO2x.

maybe u can see the pic under Newcomers' Guide and u'll recognise it.

I really miss the ride…. softly sprung and well damped … think its the most powerful bus at that time.. everytime I boarded one…I will be elated…. dun feel this way when I take the Leyland though…..especially enjoying travelling along Bt timah road..the nice breezy scenery … and the young pretty girls from CJC, NJC ,HWJC, NYG… (forgive my buayaness !!!!) riding the bus together with me …. just this simple pleasure could make a young chap so happy… those were the days…. still think is the best bus in my memory

the merz 0305 was undoubtly the best performing NAC DD to date, as agreed by many bus enthuisasts here. Smile

I agree too. The most looked forward NAC DD to board back in those times. Leyland Atlantean suspension sux big time. 2nd was Leyland Olympian.

Haha...maybe if dere was da MB 0305 AC version, SMRT would be interested in purchasing it...really missed the bus..the last time i boarded it was sumwhere in 1999 on 165 SBS 7111 T....took it for granted...

LAs suck. The lower deck always had burning rubber stench. I've never really liked this bus. Actually, I don't have nice impressions of Leyland DDs.

By the way, did HGDEP really take charge of Svc 25? What about 22 & 166? These also had O305s. In fact, 2583 was removed from 154 and transferred to 166. Did it mean this bus was moved to AMDEP or was 166 ever controlled from HGDEP?

25 and 26 were transfered from HGDEP to AMDEP and BRAM respectively and I don't know when. The 2 services got Volvo fleet from HGDEP. But when transfered, the Volvo fleet didn't go with them. They were in HGDEP could be because HGDEP took charged of some Bedok int services. 166 was never in HGDEP. I believe the bus was transfered to AMDEP.

25 had Volvo DD or SD fleet? I've not seen B10Ms on this service, only O405s. But VO3Xes dominated 25 for a long time, though.
