Ever wonder how come service no.1 were not re-used ever since it was withdrawn in the 80s?

Talking about no.1,I remember used to take it from Bedok to general hospital, think it was chopped off becos of it duplicate service 2 route.

There was also a bus service umbered as SS7 from CCK to WDL centre Rd.

CAIX SG

Anybody knows the history of service 1 ?

^tamago^ SG

it probably existed since pre-SBS times, in the 50's. Withdrawn sometime in 1987 under rationalisation of bus services following opening of EWL ba.

kenny_cai SG

Maybe not in Singapore, but there IS a Service 0 in Taiwan, from what I recall from reading an old travel guide to Taipei. Besides that, no other country uses "0" for a service number. Whether the service still exists or not, I'm not sure. Sorry.

ZYX2005 SG

service 1 shd be tracable to the 3 bus co days of 70s. ABS UBS and ABC. i think it was under ABC. but before ABC got the route it prob existed as some STC route. hence we say 50s

dun forget the NS1 (national stadium 1 service back then)
