I really dislike the SMRT company u noe… The last time the fare increase was in 2002. Not again!!!!!!!! SMRT proprosed to LTA or PTC to increase the fares of buses, MRT and LRT. SBS Transit did not even proposed lol!!!! I think SBST will do so as to compete with SMRT…......

They should try to solve overcrowding problem in trains and improve frequencies of their buses before increasing fare…, furthermore i believe most commuters do not want to pay higher fare travelling in their crowded buses without tv mobile

Don't blame them for asking for increase la... The government already say profit must be in line with assets.. with so much asset, their profit must be high then can consider reasonable.... this logic, I still cannot understand ....

By increasing the frequency of their services will increase more cost, then they can ask for much higher increase.... I believe I saw their poster saying they ferry some 2 millions commuter a day for work or play, still they cannot make much profit, wonder how many people they ferry then can satify their greed ....?

The PTC will definitely go ahead and approve the increase. Same as the case of Casino!
It is just a "drama" in the straits times by the Yeow Chew tong that the company must justified the increase.
Never heard any audit by PTC in the past 3 years.
Is time for PTC do "wayang" with all the bloody statistics.
Dunt know how they get these figures! Really doubtful about their roles!

I also think that the PTC would also approve the increase in fares. When did PTC ever rejected any of the bus companies request for fare increament?

maybe both smrt and sbst already agreed to increase fares together.. make people play guessing games..
becos if only one party increases, then those on concession fares will be quite messy, and residents in north and north west area lost out..

they peaceful rivals.. not those to the extreme.. also they are some what controled by the authorities.. rivals sometimes work together so that they get their aim.. its said smrt applid for increase last year but failed as sbst didnt apply..

one similar example is petrol stations.. all raise prices together.. "price-fixing"

yes, agree with you. I am just not happy paying more, not even a cent, for taking the crowded buses, and stand throughout the long journey!
and also the malfunctioning of air con buses on the SMRT buses.
We have no recourse for these bad services provided by this bus company! Not entitled for refund!
For instances, the lousiest bus fleet in bt panjang feeder services. 920 & 921.
And the DAF buses, which have the worst Air con!

For university svs, they have done their best by deploying aircon double decks for the NTU side... Very frequent buses for NUS side
