According to commuters? feedback, majority of the commuters prefer
air-conditioned buses to non-air-conditioned ones given our hot and
humid climate. It is also quieter and more comfortable to travel in
air-conditioned buses.
As for the suggestion to set feeder bus fares according to the
distance travelled, we wish to clarify that the fares for feeder
services are flat fares pegged at the minimum fare of trunk
services, i.e., $0.80 for cash payment or $0.63 using ez-link card
for adults. Many commuters using feeder bus services benefit from
this flat fare as they would otherwise have to pay a higher fare if
these services adopt the distance-related trunk service fare
structure. As feeder services utilise the same level of resources
as trunk services, it will not be viable for feeder services to set
distance-related fares that are lower than the current flat
fare.
Commuters are encouraged to use ez-link cards to enjoy lower fares.
In particular, ez-link card users can enjoy additional transfer
rebates if they connect from feeder bus services to the MRT or
other bus services.
