DD for Svc 96

Is ther any plan of deploying DDs on Svc 96?

the hills of Kent Ridge Crescent are not suitable for DDs. also, though i'm not sure of the height, the bridge near the central library connecting Engrg Fac and Yusof Ishak Hse may be lower than 4.5 meters.

i dun think so with sv96 frequency 2-3mins during peak hours. by having DDs, it will delay the bus in movin off as more commuters would like to squeeze up the DD as it has more space.

96 can never have DDs due to the hills on kent ridge. and also there is a height restriction on the overhead bridge linking engine and arts (or is it YIH)

96 can have DDs.

The bridge between Engineering faculty and Central Library is sufficiently high enough (4.5m) for a DD to pass. On the contrary, it is the bridge between Sports Centre and Yusof Ishak House that is too low for a DD to pass and which is why you do not see DD on 95 at all.

In fact, there was once a trial for DDs on both 96 and 151. I know because there was a circular which was sent out to all NUS students informing us of the trial. Why they didn't finally deploy DDs on either service is something only SBST will know.

Think is more to do with the weight of the DD plus the fact tt all the bus stops in NUS are situated on steep slopes unlike NTU. Imagine the amount of torque need to move the bus..Even the SD have problems moving off some times.

If u want DD on 96, SBST would've deployed on 96 years ago.
