But, immediately aft yesterday's newspaper complaint, SMRT did a fast job... @ Orchard, they reminded passengers not to rush into the train after the siren has sounded... Why can't they follow HK's MTR?

If they ask ppl to wait for next train, I wonder has the train officer abused this power as he has the power to control the dwell time

BTW, Dhoby Ghaut has this problem as well

Another poor sv from SMRT - Bus svs

Ever since SBS handed over many svs to SMRT, sv level have went down

Sv 61, 67, 75, 77, 106, 167, 169, 171, 173, 176, 178, 188, 190, 300, 302, 307, 941, 945, 947, 961, 980 frequency is either quite irregular or bad

Sv 700, 960, 970 and SMRT feeders frequency very bad

Sv 172, 175, 177, 184, 187 have remained the same though

Nvr expect SMRT to improve the service standards. All the think is money. Hope SMRT collapses and TIBS reigns! =D

Equally bad just that Sv 172, 175, 180, 184, 187, 189 sv standard remains abt the same... SMRT Feeders frequency quite bad on the general scale... Sv 925, 926, 927, 960, 961, 962, 963, 965, 985 frequency quite bad... Sv 969 forget it, compeition too intense liao...

But then, entire SMRT (Incl the SMRT Buses will collapse)... Alan has said that now SMRT is left to rot as it is acting big and never see how a compeitor is SBS now esp in train sv

In my opinion, i doubt SMRT will rot, unless the government promote flexibility in the areas which the bus company could serve. Furthermore, NEL and SMRT lines are two different issues. In my point of view, even if how fantastically done for NEL, and how sucky smrt trains are. Passengers do not have a choice and will still continue taking trains. For eg. a resident in Woodlands going downtown will only have to take the train and NEL CAN'T HELP at all in his case.

That's the prob... But we know that NEL is better for us since we go take train and buses around... What I meant that "It is rotting if sv level dun increase to SBS bus sv standard"....

That's how we can argue our way out to complain abt their poor train and bus svs

SMRT: 2-5 mins (Peak) 7-10 mins (Off Peak)
NEL: 3-6 mins (Peak) 4-9 mins (Off Peak)

I dun think so, SMRT is not even willing to pay for it saying that it is losing $20M (Even hao lian to reporters somemore), but the fact is that the loss for this year would be lesser than $19M (For bth NEL and SKLRT)

Rather, SMRT should be giving it up... Cutting the no of trains and making it so packed, it has started to turn away passengers... Thinking of asking SBS to make rts to complete with SMRT trains..

No matter what, i will support SBSTransit and not SMRT.. unless they give mi better service with their trainz.. you see.. for SBST.. even though NEL is losing Money, they still keep the service standard High.. for SMRT.. Even though they are making money.. they still wanna cut down the number of trains in service.. marking most of the time, you will alwayz see PACKED trains.. be it Peak or OffPeak Hours…

Yes. Noticed that 852 very hard to wait at all times. Usually deploy Malaysian Lances, these type of buses, length too short, too cosy, at peak hour, the 852 bus is very crowded at NJC, HCJC and NYGH. Should deploy bendy on 852 during peak hours. The bus will remain crowded from there all the way to Yishun.

Not to say about the frequency, NEL always can get seats in off peak hours, and during peak hours also can, provided you board the train from PGL, SKG or HGN.
