What do you think of such a suggestion? This route can link Yishun with Punggol via Sengkang, just as 39 links Yishun to Tampines via Pasir Ris. Surely it can give 965 a run for its money anytime. Twisted Evil

Last time PSR pple oso change bus to get to YIS. They took 89 to SKG & transfer to 965. Then came 39, as what some of you called a DREAM COME TRUE.

very good idea. Or should begin with a new route. If alternate 39 route, people will have a longer time to get to travel between Tampines and Yishun. A new route would be good, as the route can call along Punggol Field, Edgefield Plains for convenience of the residents there. Punggol already has SBST 3 to get to Tampines or Pasir Ris. Perhaps a new service to Bedok, Marine Parade or Eunos, as well as Changi Airport.

That's what I had in mind. After exiting TPE @ PGL Rd, the new service can use SKG East Dr & then follow 62 route to PGL Int. But if the SKG West flyover is ready, better still. It can use SKG East Rd & pass by Compass Pt en route to PGL.

How's the flyover @ SKG west now? Is it possible for vehicles along TPE to turn right into SKG East Rd? I remember traffic from SKG East Rd were allowed to turn into TPE towards SLE when the flyover works began.

The flyover at SKG East Rd is 100% ready, I saw it went I took 161 from WDL to HGN last week.

that is a very good suggestion.as punggol currently only have a few bus routes.a new route would make punggol more accessible Very Happy .

Duplicate so much service for what? Wasting resources huh? SBS & TIBS (not me) went crazy introducing some services for competition.

As far as I know, 965 and 161 take different routes between Sengkang Int and Punggol Rd. 965 goes into Yishun but 161 does not. At the same time, 965 travel along WDL Ave 7 while 161 does not. There is some sort of competition for commuters who travel between Sengkang and Yishun, but overall, 965 is the only bus from WDL Ave 7 and Yishun to Sengkang and 161 is the only bus from HGN to WDL. They serve different market. As for 168-969, 969-39, I am not very sure about the route they take.

May I suggest that if this route is to materialise, it could be merged with service 82 such that it terminates at Serangoon Int via punggol?

This is so as the usage of 82 is relatively low during peak hours and this may provide the opportunity to "rejuvinate" the route. Demand should be high as no buses in the serangoon, kovan and hougang could go to yishun.

A feeder bus should operate from Punggol Int to Punggol Road End as I often see empty buses from the punggol rd end to the NEL station so the freq could be put higher.

In a sense, I agree with you... But bear in mind that it is the only bus that serves the entire stretch of Punggol Rd

Punggol has not fully developed yet.

As for those going to SK...they could take 39 and x-fer at Jalan Kayu to 86.
