Is there really a bus fare cap on SBST Buses???

On the SBST Website, it says that fare is capped at $1.90 irregardless on the number of transfer made on its basic bus services.

But I have experienced that every 5th trip I made on the SBST bus (taking purely SBST buses alone) will be a new trip and also it will be a new trip when I board a bus after 2.5hours from the 1st bus ( Question

They have never claimed to cap your bus fare for any number of transfers and for an infinite travelling time loh.

The same rules related to transfers and new trips apply.

YES!!! That has been my experience too... some of my friends have been complaining about this also. In fact sometimes for some inexplicable reason, its New Trip when i board a bus immediately after alighting from my previous bus, though its only the 2nd trip.

And very often when i try tapping my ezlink at the machine when i want to alight, it just says EXIT OK, without beeping or saying the fare and value left. I wonder has the fare balance been refunded to the card or eaten up by SBST? Confused

Anyone has similar experiences?

By the way, this $1.90 cap was announced together with the bus fare hikes, which i guess was to pre-empt and pacify the commuters to accept the fare rise.

i have also noted that the fare cap for more than 4 trips have never been realised.

in fact, ever since reimbursement from TSO's ended sometime in april tis yr, the ez-link system has not been giving fare caps yet reimbursement requests at TSO will give u the reply that they do not provide reimbursement anymore and it is already automatically done in the ez-link system.

worse still, some jus feign ignorance and act blur. whether the function on their top-up terminals were removed or not i dunno, but sure those who worked from dec '03 to apr '04 (unless they change all their staff in 7 months) will noe about the reimbursement and have done the transacton before.
