To take the MRT, there are two ways you can go from Toa
Payoh:
-either northwards (the next station is Braddell, followed by
Bishan, etc.) all the way till Jurong East, then you cross the
platform and take the train to Boon Lay. (total 19 stops)
-or southwards (the next station is Novena, next Newton, next
ORCHARD, etc.) until you reach Raffles Place MRT. cross the
platform and take the train all the way till Boon Lay. (total 20
stops)
for me, I'm a little playful.. I'll transfer to north east line at
Dhoby Ghaut, then alight at Outram Park, and continue to Boon Lay
on East West Line. Saves one stop. (total 19 stops)
If you prefer the bus, you can take service 157 from Toa Payoh
Interchange and enjoy a widing journey as it travels through
Thomson, Bukit Timah, Bukit Batok and Jurong East. But for me, I
get headaches after I reach Boon Lay (travel sickness?).
just a guide for you, because I also live in Toa Payoh and also
gone to NTU many times over the past years for courses..
