wat is CNG & EDB Question

Superbus SG

CNG - Compressed Natural Gas, currently only 2 buses on the roads, SBS2988M and SBS2989K, both serving Service 105 (Serangoon-Jurong East). Easily identified with a huge pod on the roof.

EDB - Electronic Destination Board, I guess? The correct term is EDS - Electronic Destination System.

I won't mind...

After all, it's an indirect contribution to the environment. Wink

But not if the fares get too exhorbitant... for instance, more than max. $2.50 per ride?

kuekj SG

$2.50 per ride? You;d might as well deploy those buses to the Express services..
I'll prefer between $1.50 and $2.00 for such buses if fares got to rise. Smile soon i'll be paying adult fees anyway.. (graduating from school soon)

sBs_boy SG

TakiNg your 'O's or 'A's.. ???

MooKu SG

But the maximum bus fare is already capped at $1.90.

Taking my A's Wink

SBST is going to buy 100 new CNG bus.. do you think they will rise the fares this time.. ?? i personally think that they will do it this time.. it cost Lots oof money just to buy CNG Buses... Do you think this will happen...??? Rolling Eyes

SBS3624G SG

I should say that we would see less of these problem sif we see another bus company challenging the SBST.

TIB1186Z SG

It will not happen. There would not be another company challenging SBST in singapore as the market is too small, and public transport may become chaotic. Face the fact.

sbst275 SG

I am willing to pay higher… For a cleaner future environment

NineGrains SG

I am willing to pay more too.

By the way, I think bus fares in Singapore are quite reasonable compared to what is being charged overseas- considering SBST and SMRT has a modern fleet with regular frequencies.
