Yesterday i had a weird dream. I dreamt that one of the mk3 i boarded on sv 163 was ZF gearboxed. The engine sounded like an Mk2. Is there any ZF MK3s in real life?

I havent heard of any yet. BTW the only bus dreams i had was Yishun interchange taken over by SBST (that time i really wished it happened coz TIBS are really doing quite a bad job for Yishun trunk services). Even then the dream wasnt that detailed - only a blurr, like seeing supposedly VO's with desto plates like 25, 10 etc parking at the vertical parking bays as I "passed by" in the dream. It probably didnt mean anything. Nothing was clear.

SBS 876R ( 31 BNDEP ) HAS a ZF gearbox. Boarded it before and verified it. Sounds like an ah-kua Mk II.

There are some DM Mk IVs with Voith gearbox, like 884S.

Well, this is no dream for me
884S, 888G has mkIII engine, or so I think.......
Anyway, when I mentioned this on a yahoo group, I managed to raise a hooha with some saying yes and no. Hope this does not happen again as my E-mail became flooded then.
According to some there, these are not the only buses, so I would like some confirmations.

yes, earlier Mk IV DM's uses the Mk III engine (THD101GD) while the later ones use the engine tat most Mk IV's use (THD101KF). which ones i'm not sure, but from my observation it's 882Y to 903X.

the engine sound can be obseved most clearly at the rear door where u hear the radiator's sound come out on the left side of the mid-mounted engine. i'm boarded a crowded svc 36 Mk IV DM before and i could note the difference in the sound the engine (and hence the radiator) produces.

as for other Mk IV (Striders & DM3500), i don't think they use THD101GD engine.

Well, they look the same, though they are some what slower when picking up.

i used physically checked SBS0888G’s (HG 74) details, which confirmed that it is not a true-blue Mk IV. however, it is not a true-blue Mk III either, though somewhat closer to Mk III than Mk IV. need to gather more info on the other buses.
