the first thing tat came to my mind is 401.

Service 334 NEVER did and CAN NEVER have VO3x, as it is under SLBP and is not going to change to BBDEP anytime soon.

It also did / does not have VO2x / LO3x.

a few years ago when i email (then) sbs to request double decks for service 13 because it's super-packed at some times, they reply that there's some height limits which do not allow them to do so, perhaps the routes pass by hills or something.

In my opinion, service 284 will not be withdrawn. It's the most direct route for residents of Clementi Ave 4 and Sunset Way estate (a pedestrian bridge links Sunset Way estate with Clementi Ave 4). For the Sunset Way residents living near to Clementi Ave 4, taking service 284 is much faster than taking services 154 or 184.

When services 282 and 287 merged in the 80s, residents along Clementi West St 2 complained that their journey time was increased. So, in 1990, with the shortening of service 189, the service provided the former service 287 fast link between Clementi town centre/MRT station and Clementi West St 2.

For info, routes of services 282 and 287 before merging in 80s.

282: Clementi int, (Ave 3), C'wealth Ave West, Ave 2, Ave 5, (Ave 4), (Ave 3) and int.

287: Clementi int, (Ave 3), C'wealth Ave West, Ave 2, Clementi West St 2, West Coast Rd, Ave 2, C'wealth Ave West, (Ave 3) and int.

( ) denotes express sector.

I dont agree to what SBST had said.. the roads that service 13 ply doesnt have have any height limit lower than 4.5m... i think the problems lies with Upp East Coast Terminal Bahx.. ?? i just feel that the Terminal is abit too small for DD bus.. iF the problem lies with Yio Chu Kang.. then.. i think i wont be seeing DD bus on 70 already... hmmm.. that whats i think only.. Unless... they are short of DD bus..

Siglap Rd (except the part bet Siglap Link & Marine Parade Rd), which svc 13 plies, is unsuitable for DDs, due to its narrowness.

Service 13 does not even need DDs, just need an improvement in the headways which currently range from poor to average.

Upp East Coast Ter should be suitable for DDs.

Yio Chu Kang Ter can definately support DDs, if not svc 72 would already go crazy, even 1min freq not enough.

SBST is also short of DD buses, especially AMDEP, thats why you see svc 86 and 154 bringing their VO fleets over from HGDEP.

The stretch of Siglap Road around the Indon School is very short, with just one bus stop (covered by 13, 155 & 60 Cool . This portion is two-laned in both directions. 40 is unsuitable for DD because the part of Siglap Road from New Upp Changi Rd to Upp East Coast Rd is rather narrow. From Upp East Coast Rd onwards, it is wider. In short, unless there are overhanging tree branches like those found along Henderson Rd (AYE to Tk Blangah) & Upp Aljunied Rd, the Indon School can be served by DDs.

AMDEP/BRAM already has LO3X and VSO prior to the redeployment exercise concluded recently.

leeJZ SG

I see.

amdep/bram did not have enough DD to go around.

Hmmm.. since SBST is earning so much.. Why donT they just Buy more DD bus.. ?? well.. maybe with Weelchair Access.. ?? i would like to see this particular model plying on singapore road.. VolvoSuper Olympian with Weight Body... currently you can see this buses in London and HongKong..

Wright-bodied buses look weird. They remind me of over-sized handphones. I still prefer the DM-bodied Tridents. They have this “retro” look that brings to mind the DM Atlanteans.

sbst275 SG

No... Most of the times, the single decks can cope with it except for like 147 and 190 last time

kuekj SG

yck have quite a bit of dds.. like service 72.

btw i emailed them before svc 13 moved to upper east coast.. uh marine parade? can't exactly remember. i don't remember seeing any double decks at the marine parade terminal then.. perhaps that's why. Smile

leeJZ SG

Marine Parade Terminal had DDs, I remember seeing them parked there before it closed, I'm sure services like svc 196 would have them.

tranquilice SG

DDs can enter Marine Parade terminal. Otherwise we won't see DDs on service 196 (and some others).

iveco SG

Did 76 have any DDs before Marine Parade terminal closed down in 9/01?

tranquilice SG

If I'm remember correctly, the first DD on service 76 appered in 2002.

medicheng SG

buses passing under CTE after braddell also cannot have DD like 73 and 159…
