sbs&tibs SG It doesn't make much sense for EUNOS svcs to go over to AMDEP. Next to BNDEP there is an empty land. The govt make decide to give SBST to expand its territory. Don't send poor eunos svcs to AMDEP! Expand BN! Send BDK Svcs back to BNDEP so maybe eunos svcs could remain at HG!
sbst275 SG That one depends on how fast can BNDEP be completed, really AMDEP is facing shortages, but AMDEP should just stay focus for TPY/ BSH and AMK svs. SGN can go to HGDEP
iveco SG BDK has 4 or 5 svcs deployed from HGDEP whereas SGN has 7 or 8. Sending BDK svcs back to BN while allowing EUN svcs to stay on at HG won't help much either. How big is HGDEP, in the first place? Also, what about Sims Place and Geylang Fringe routes? Will they continue to make use of Dennis superbuses?
service_238 SG if a change in deployment goes over to a certain depot, 1. the area route group will be under that depot 2. the people running the route group will be redeployed to other places as these ppl work for a particular depot. either one or both can happen.
leeJZ SG Dont forget all HG services @ Bedok are longhaul services (7 32 33 66 197) while Serangoon services are shorter svcs.
iveco SG 100 is also long-haul, but it is not a joint op, unlike the BDK svcs from HG. 007-BB/HG 032, 033-AR/HG 066, 197-SL/HG Furthermore, most SGN svcs are full depot ctrlled, ie under a single depot, in that case, AM. Possible outcomes: 100 to receive BB buses in addition to those from HG. 93 to receive AM buses in addition to AR. Meaning: some of 100's buses go over to 93 & vice versa. It is likely that HG may need extra space for the deployment change and could see some changes to some BDK routes. I can bet on 7 getting snuffed and superceded by an extended 18.
SBST390 SG why is it that 7 must be snuffed and 18 be extended?? dun forget that even if you kill the svc, the buses whill still be physically ard. so in theory, these buses will still be ard in HG
SBST390 SG then the 64 drivers will be in kow pey kow boo mode. Honestly i would think 64 may be given to SGN route group. simply there are not enough ADDs to run on 64 if it follows EUN to AMDEP. Most of the ADDs at AMDEP are booked
SBST390 SG the trident deployment for 64 and 62 isnt really large.. so unless if 64 moves with EUN to AMDEP, you prolly would still see tridents ard. as for 62, is it under SKG or PGL route group (if any??). then the tridents will not move
iveco SG Well, either they get redeployed on other routes or become SPs. The vehicles from BBDEP will just be taken over by the merged entity while those from BN will not be moved.
iveco SG to serve the public better. a good example being tampines & holland v having direct links. also, hgdep's gonna need a lot of vehicles for serangoon routes as most of them are full single depot controlled.
SBST390 SG an effective bus connection from TPN to other parts of the island would require the bus to travel the expressways a la 23... so what is this about tampines and holland V do look at the macroscopic picture also HGDEP dun need alot of vehicles... 82, 101, 103, 315 and 317 are short haul routes and do not need many bus... 105 is 75% SLBP control, impact isn't that great. the only one is whether 100 would be BBDEP controlled or not...
sbst275 SG The 7/18 merger is only to have lesser buses needed and yet serve more linkage pt to pt. But not for long dist But my TSL does give it. (However TSL goes where IBS cannot cope or complete with MRT, thus a IBS complementary sv). But seriously, such long rts are not advsiable as they are not gonna be popular unless it's express
iveco SG What of 14 & 51, both of whom have more than 40 fare stages in each direction and ply little or no stretches of highways? 14 can be split, so can 51. 14: BDK-Tomlinson Rd (loop) & CLE-Suntec (loop) 51: HGN-NBR, JUR-NBR If u combine 7 & 18, there are only 36-37 fare stages, shorter than 197's 37-38. Btw, does 105's O405s come from SL or AM? The Mk 5s are definitely property of SLBP.
sbst275 SG They are old rts, passengers can be affected a lot. That's why no more long rts that has no reasons for it.
leeJZ SG Just dont need to touch 51. 14, since its a very winding route, should just be shortened to Upp East Coast, can already shave like 10 stages off. 105's Merz come from both depots.
iveco SG I wonder if carbikebus is so suay to be captaining route 51. So what if 51 svc cpts get longer break? They must drive for 2 hours non-stop each direction. What if one of them got stomachache? The same applies for svc 14 cpts. Each depot has its own long winding route: SLBP: 51 (with HGDEP), 143 (with BRAM) BBDEP: 14 (with BNDEP), 166 (with AMDEP) ARBP: 16 (but it's a loop svc) BRAM: 143 (with SLBP) AMDEP: 166 (with BBDEP) HGDEP: 51 (with SLBP) BNDEP: 14 (with BBDEP) WLDEP: 961 (wonder which SMRT EB comes from here, also think of 961 buses reporting for duty at Geylang Fringe. Must dash down the BKE, PIE, Bendemeer & Boon Keng Rds.) KJDEP: 61, 67 (with AMKBEP) AMKDEP: 61, 67 (with KJDEP)
