Since it calls twice at Jurong Port Rd (Jurong Port), Jln Tepong, Fishery Port Rd, Jln Buroh (Opp Abattior). How does passenger recongise which is which? There are no plates like 155

Also, Sv 78 is going to call twice at Pandan Rd (Bet Pandan Ave to Jln Buroh - Western side)?

somehow they can recognise it. i used to go there once for a job interview and when i was going back from jurong port rd i had no problems recognising tat i can't take an earlier bus tat came (tat was going to jurong island) but the next bus. i can't remember, but i think they used the IN/OUT front panel card system.

there are no pair of bus stops at Pandan Rd between Pandan Ave and Jln Buroh.

They used the red and white plate system on the side. That’s how they recognise which direction

Then why do 139 & 155 have an extra set of plates? Aren’t IN & OUT cards enough as in the case of services originating from STM Terminal?

For services 139 and 155, cannot use the "In" and "Out" cards. For example, service 139 passengers along Jln Bahagia, when they see the "Out" card, they will be confused: Out to where? Toa Payoh? Bt Merah? That's why the buses have an extra side desto at the front to indicate where they are terminating, instead of using the "In" and "Out" cards.

For services terminating at St. Michael's, beside the "In" and "Out" cards, they also use red and white side destos.

I don't remember service 98 using the red and white plates system. Confused What I saw was top-white bottom-red side desto.

I dont remember 124, 131 or 186 having any desto plate in front. As for 98, it has a white desto plate on its return journey but no extra plate in front.

SMRT doesn't have such worries. The front EDS displays the desto at one glance. Wonder when SBST will learn.

May I know which SMRTB services call a place twice other than at Kranji? Do you know how much is it to maintain a EDS plate in good working condition? The tridents already have problems as of damages by the roads

Anyway, SMRT's EDS appears to be working fine AFAIK.

Because that's single deck. Double deck has a lot of problems, you see the tridents, masking tapes are placed at the EDS up upstairs

What abt 170? Does 170X goes all the way to Queen St?

Then CW1 is like 170? Serving 2 terminals? So frequency is 10 mins on bth sides?

170X (Blue Plate) terminates at Kranji Stn, according to the svc 170 service guide.

The Blue Plated freq is more than twice as good as the red plated freq (the one that goes to Queen St).

No, frequency for 170X is 4 mins while 170 is abt 10 mins

CW1 is 5-6 mins, but in actual fact, it is 10-12 mins as it will split into Larkin and JB Bandaraya.

For 315, it is either Serangoon Nth or Serangoon Int
For 317, it is either Berwick Dr or Serangoon Int

Only 73, 136 does not uses plates as it is only 1 bus stop that bth rts meet. BC also slow down as well.

Actually in the past (last time used to be 217), at the very beginning stage when Serangoon Int just opened. 217 used those "green" plate and "white" plate. "green" plate goes Serangoon Garden Estate while "white" plate goes Serangoon Int. The bus driver get down the bus to change the plate when they are inside Serangoon Garden Estate.

On raining day, they carry umbrella down the bus to change the plate.
